SLASH: More WAAF Interview Footage Posted Online

Mistress Carrie of the Worcester/Boston, Massachusetts radio station WAAF recently conducted an interview with legendary guitarist Slash. You can now watch the chat in three parts below.

Although there has been very little activity from VELVET REVOLVER in the past four years, Slash told The Aquarian Weekly that the band is still a going concern. In fact, he revealed that the group would have a new lead singer if not for scheduling conflicts. Slash explained, "Jimmy Gnecco [of New York band OURS] is an amazing singer and we really wanted to work with him. The unfortunate thing was that our schedules conflicted. Whenever we wanted to fly him out to work with us, he was already engaged in something else, but Jimmy was without a doubt the type of singer we were looking for. He was amazing."

VELVET REVOLVER has been without a frontman and on hiatus since Scott Weiland was dismissed from the group in April 2008.

Gnecco's name came into the mix late last year after he sang lead vocals on VELVET REVOLVER's "Slither", GUNS N' ROSES' "It's So Easy" and JIMI HENDRIX's "Hey Joe" at a benefit concert in New York City on September 13, with Slash, bassist Duff McKagan, drummer Matt Sorum and guitarist Dave Kushner.

At one point it was reported that VELVET REVOLVER was going to team with STONE SOUR and SLIPKNOT vocalist Corey Taylor, but the idea was ultimately vetoed by Slash. The group and Taylor recorded demos of 10 songs together.

Meanwhile, Slash has been busy with his own solo career. His second album, "Apocalyptic Love", came out in May and the ex-GUNS axeman has been on the road consistently with his band, MYLES KENNEDY AND THE CONSPIRATORS.

The group will head to Australia and New Zealand this month, but will return for a fall headlining North American tour that will begin on September 4 in San Diego and wind down on October 3 in Los Angeles.
